Detailed description of Hermitage Golf Club
The Hermitage Golf Club, previously named Haystack Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Wilmington, Vermont.
The course first opened for play in 1972.The course was designed by Desmond Muirhead.
The championship course offers classic fairways and challenging greens over its 6,549-yard, Par 72 layout. The course has a fairly flat front nine and a back nine with breathtaking views on rolling hill terrain.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,549 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5396 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 539 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 177 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 413-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Hermitage Golf Course is # 13, a 178 yard par-3.

While Stratton and Mount Snow courses are very respectable, this course is gorgeous and quite challenging. Greens are huge and undulating. If you not under the whole, watch out. Clubbing up is often necessary, especially if there is any wind at all. You will not regret playing this course, that is a guarantee.
